In 2026, Veronika Cukrov received recognition from the international legal organisation Leaders in Law<\/strong>, \u00bbImplementation of EU rules in the field of artificial intelligence \u2013 AI Expert of the Year in Slovenia & the EU\u00ab<\/strong>, which acknowledged her professional work in the field of artificial intelligence, AI governance and the implementation of European AI regulation into business practice.<\/p>

In 2026, together with Vesna Cukrov, she co-authored the Slovenian chapters of the Chambers Global Practice Guides 2026<\/strong>: International Arbitration \u2013 Law and Practice<\/a> and Trends and Developments<\/a>.<\/p>

In 2021 and in 2025 she likewise received recognition from the international legal organisation Leaders in Law<\/strong>, \u00bbGlobal Awards 2021 winner\u00ab<\/strong> and \u00bbPublic Procurement Expert of the year in Slovenia\u00ab<\/strong>.<\/p><\/div>

She sees the law in the wider context of technology, society and European regulation.<\/strong><\/p>

Among her central professional interests are questions of individual autonomy, data and the impact of technology on society, which she was already writing about in 2018 in the Saturday supplement of the daily Delo<\/strong> \u2013 today she focuses above all on artificial intelligence, its governance and the implementation of European regulation in business practice.<\/p>

Her strength is breadth. She has an excellent command of European law \u2013 as part of a wider team, she was involved in an action against the European Commission before the Court of Justice of the European Union<\/strong> \u2013 and pursued further studies in European and competition law at Oxford<\/strong> and at the Academy of European Law (ERA)<\/strong>. In 2024 she was certified by ERA<\/strong> on the basis of her training in European law in Trier, Strasbourg and Luxembourg. A polyglot, she moves between legal systems and languages with equal ease. Before joining the firm she worked at Deloitte<\/strong>, and she has also left her mark in academia and public discourse \u2013 as editor-in-chief of the faculty\u2019s law journal, a columnist for the daily Delo<\/strong> and a regular speaker, including at the Komunal energy conference in Brussels (2025).<\/p>

Veronika Cukrov earned her master’s degree and graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Ljubljana<\/strong>.<\/p>

She is also the winner of the National Legal Negotiation Competition<\/strong> in 2017. She was also a member of the winning team at the diplomatic competition with over 500 delegates, WFUNA WIMUN 2015<\/strong>, at the UN General Assembly in New York. In 2016, she received an award for special achievements by the Rector of University of Ljubljana<\/strong>. Veronika Cukrov was also the Tutor of Economics at Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana. She has written numerous legal articles, she cooperates with the Slovene Chamber of Commerce<\/strong> and the Manager Association<\/strong>. She follows further education in London. Before studying at the university, she graduated from Be\u017eigrad Grammar School.<\/p>

During her studies at the Faculty of Law, University of Ljubljana, she gained experience in business and at a law firm, and took part in domestic and international legal competitions with notable results.<\/p>

She has gained significant knowledge and expertise in civil law, business law, crypto currencies, negotiation skills and corporate restructuring.<\/p>
